Joe Sudbay at AmericaBlog points out the goodies from the new NBC/WSJ poll, and affirms what I’ve been saying for ages now:
That doesn’t appear to be the case with McCain’s running mate, Sarah Palin. Fifty-five percent of respondents say she’s not qualified to serve as president if the need arises, up five points from the previous poll.
In addition, for the first time, more voters have a negative opinion of her than a positive one. In the survey, 47 percent view her negatively, versus 38 percent who see her in a positive light.
That’s a striking shift since McCain chose Palin as his running mate in early September, when she held a 47 to 27 percent positive rating.
Now, Palin’s qualifications to be president rank as voters’ top concern about McCain’s candidacy – ahead of continuing President Bush’s policies, enacting economic policies that only benefit the rich and keeping too high of a troop presence in Iraq.
Yes, I’m glad we’re not facing Mittens or Pawlenty, or especially Huckabee. It’s a good thing McCain is impulsive and erratic when it comes to decision making.

(CBS) The standing of the Democratic presidential ticket of Barack Obama and Joe Biden improved during the last few weeks of the presidential campaign, a period that included the three presidential debates and the vice presidential debate, a new CBS News/New York Times poll shows.In a poll taken just before the first presidential debate, the Obama-Biden ticket held a five point edge, with 48 percent of likely voters backing the Democratic ticket and 43 percent supporting the Republican ticket of John McCain and Sarah Palin.
Those 476 likely voters were re-interviewed for the new poll, and their responses suggest that the Democratic ticket has made gains since the initial survey: The Obama-Biden ticket now holds a 13-point edge, 54 percent to 41 percent, among the group.
Of course, the Gawdless liberals conducted the poll, so it’s all lies lies lies!!!

Meanwhile, Nevada, Ohio, Florida, North Dakota look to be toss-ups, Iowa and NM solidly for Obama, with all of the blue-states from 2004 solidly Obama and beyond reach for McCain.
But don’t listen to those numbers, because the McCain comeback is underway, thanks to prayer to Jesus!
The Great Orange Satan polls KY, and finds a nine-point swing for Bruce Lunsford over the past month:
McConnell- 46%
Lunsford- 42%
A couple of thoughts:
1) Mitch McConnell is well below the magical 50% mark for incumbents.
2) Bruce Lunsford has a higher favorable rating than Mitch McConnell. That is definitely the first time I’ve seen numbers like that. And Bruce is all the way up to 48% favorables, which I NEVER would have seen happening. If this poll is accurate, Mitch’s negative ads are an Epic Fail.
3) Obama is outperforming Kerry from 2004, as he’s down 53-39. Kerry lost KY 60-40.
But the best news from the poll: Democrats were severely undersampled.
KY’s registration numbers are:
Democrats- 57
Republicans- 36
The makeup of the poll was Democrats 46, Republicans 38.
You do the math, folks. This thing is dead even.

Mitch McConnell’s de facto attack blog, whose content comes directly from the senator’s office, is now sinking to new depths of the surreal. After mimicking the pathetic fear tactics of the McCain campaign for months now, it appears that their only hope to defeat Barack Obama now is….. praying to Jesus to elect John McCain. Seriously. It was not enough to change the race, but there are other factors at play.
Yesterday I received an email that is circulating the internet. It’s a prayer for McCain and the country. Turns out that ordinary, non-political people are fed up with the media’s drumbeat to the tune of BozScaggs: “Why can’t you just get it through your head? It’s over, it’s over now.”
As the email notes, if faith can move mountains, then it can certainly move voters to wake up from their Obama-induced stupor. After all, McCain’s campaign was supposed to fold 18 months ago. According to the “conventional wisdom,” he was not supposed to last through the primaries.
McCain’s survival — not just his political survival but the fact that he is still alive — is extraordinary, miraculous even. He should have died in the fire that killed his comrades. He should have died in the Prisoner of War camp. He did not.
I will submit that McCain’s life was spared for a reason. This race is not over.
That’s right folks. Jesus saved John McCain’s life so he could save us from the scary black Muslim anti-christ. We just need to pray enough for him to make it happen.
I can’t wait to hear Bridget’s scorn for Jesus when he fails her on November 5th.
