The deadline has passed, and only Bobbie Holsclaw filed for governor today.

So here’s the final list of candidates for the races coming up on May 17th (Independents have a later filing deadline, but I’ll include Gatewood since he should have no difficulty meting the petition requirements). KC Crosbie is the big winner today, as she has no challenger for the Republican nomination for Treasurer.

Governor
Steve Beshear / Jerry Abramson (D) (clinched)

David Williams / Richie Farmer (R)
Phil Moffett / Mike Harmon (R)
Bobbie Holsclaw / Bill Vermillion (R)

Gatewood Galbreath (I)

Attorney General
Todd P’Pool (R) (clinched)

Jack Conway (D) (clinched)

Secretary of State

The Herald Leader reports that the following candidates have filed today:

Hilda Legg (R)- Secretary of State (Somerset)

Addia Wuchner (R)- State Auditor (Burlington)

John Faris Lackey (D)- Agricultural Commissioner (Richmond)

Republicans should be breathing a sigh of relief that Some Dude Named Bill Johnson and John Kemper III are not running unopposed on their side of the SoS and Auditor races, as they were guaranteed losers. Then again, I’ll have to read up on Legg and Wuchner to see how viable they are.

In other news, Bobbie Holsclaw, longtime Jefferson County Clerk, is set to throw her hat into the ring for the Republican Gubernatorial nomination. And David Adams doesn’t have the greatest poker face about it.

Tomorrow is the deadline, we’ll see what other stragglers come by the Secretary of State’s office.
