Because Kentucky demands toxic coal ash poisoning — and who would Ben Chandler be if he didn’t provide?
House Republicans pushed through legislation Friday that gives the states the power to regulate coal ash from power plants as if it were municipal garbage, pre-empting pending federal regulations that could be much tougher.
The vote on coal ash disposal was the latest of several passed by the GOP-controlled House that would shift authority away from the Environmental Protection Agency and reduce federal regulations that Republicans say are burdensome, hamper economic growth and cost jobs.
The vote was 267 to 144. Ben Chandler voted yes, as did 36 Democrats.
On the bright side, shifting environmental regulations to state control only means that now Democrat Steve Beshear will be the new watchdog and… oh. Oh that actually doesn’t help at all.
Is this post’s headline misleading?

SHE WON'T GO!

Kentucky being one of the biggest watershed states should be very aware of the damage coal ash can do to our precious water resources. If you look at how well our state agencies enforce the environmental laws and regulations, we are in for trouble. Thanks Ben for helping out to save our health and environment, you the man!

Chandler is an asshole and he has the backbone of an amoeba so why am I going to vote for him? Two Words: Andy Barr. Ditto for Beshear and Williams. Fucking pathetic!!!

Always, the pragmatic progressive, keeps our eyes on the prise (archaic term for fulcrum). One other issue we progs frequently and conveniently (for plausible deniability) ignore or deny – is the responcibility of any elected representativre to vote the district that elected it. Pelosi and her predessessors uniformly gave leave to all Dems to vote their districts. Choice is choice!
Shamefully most of the district Chandler represents isn’t driven by the academic values liberals and progressives hold so dearly and appropriately in defence of our nation, government and culture.
