Oh man, this is getting brutal. Here’s a Washington Post article that just went up on Kentucky Political Superstar and Elementary School Valedictorian Richie Farmer.
What does Trey Grayson have to say?
“We all thought him getting Farmer as a running mate was a coup,” says Trey Grayson, a former Kentucky Secretary of State and now the director at Harvard’s Institute of Politics. “People who don’t ordinarily pay a lot of attention to politics pay attention when Richie Farmer is around.” But, he added: “When you get the rock star, you get some of the rock star baggage.”
WaPo then went on to list all of the “baggage” from the last few months, then asked my old Transy professor Don Dugi what he thought of Farmer:
“Richie Farmer owes his electoral success to his former career as a University of Kentucky basketball basketball player,”said Transylvania University professor Don Dugi. “He certainly doesn’t owe it to his intellectual prowess. He’s about as dumb as a brick.”
Yikes. That’s kind of brutal.
Scott Jennings countered with a lethal dose of spin:
“They are trying every trick in the book to distract from the very easy to understand difference between Farmer, who has succeeded at economic development, and Beshear, who has failed at it,” said Williams campaign strategist Scott Jennings.
Huh? OK.
These are all valid concerns in a big race like this, I suppose, but what I really want to know is:

SHE WON'T GO!
