KY Auditor, Treasurer primary candidates debate on KET

The Herald Leader and WFPL reported on the KET debate last night between the KY Auditor and Treasurer primary candidates last night.

There weren’t any fireworks among the two GOP auditor candidates, but Democrat Steve Hamrick came out firing against Todd Hollenbach.

“About the only person who has had a worse year is Tiger Woods,” said Hamrick, a Hopkinsville businessman. “But Todd’s had the opportunity to play more golf than Tiger has.”

Hollenbach responded by saying that he cleans his own toilet:

Hollenbach contended he is running the “most cost-effective agency” in state government with limited resources.

He noted that he didn’t hire a press liaison, and eliminated his state car and travel budget and the office’s legal and janitorial services, “even taking turns cleaning restrooms.”

I agree, it’s pretty cost-efficient when your office does almost nothing. Because when you don’t show up for work, you save money on electricity like, whoa. Well, Hollenbach is at least a member of the KRS board. And you know what a watchdog he’s been on that transparent body, right? Right?
