Last night we noted how Kentucky environmental groups are up-in-arms at Ben Chandler’s vote to defund the EPA’s Toxic Coal Ash regulations. (Which isn’t the first time Chandler’s defiled the environment and rankled his exasperated supporters — like last summer when he attacked the Clean Air Act).
Yesterday the GOP continued its cat-and-mouse game with shutting down the government, passing a two-week budget continuing resolution. But as DownWithTyranny & ThinkProgress note, the more interesting vote came in the form of a Democratic motion to strip the Top Five Oil Companies of their tax payer subsidies.
That vote failed 176 to 249 — with every single GOP Representative voting alongside 13 Democrats.
And you will be shocked, I’m sure, to know that Ben Chandler voted to defend the poor, helpless Oil folks.
Maybe Ben doesn’t know those five companies made about half a trillion dollars over the past five years, or, like his feelings on Toxic Coal Ash, maybe he just doesn’t care?

SHE WON'T GO!
